WinNest

Privacy policy

Last updated: 7 October 2026

Who is responsible

WinNest is made by Pablo Hurtado González (Spain), who is responsible for the personal data described here. Contact: pablohurtadohg@gmail.com.

This website

The website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking, and loads nothing from third parties: no fonts, scripts or embedded content.

The provider that hosts it may keep technical access logs (IP address, date and time, page requested and browser) to keep it secure and working. They are not used to identify visitors.

Downloads

The installer is downloaded from GitHub (github.com), which receives your request under its own privacy statement.

Purchases

Licenses are sold through Polar, the merchant of record. Polar collects the payment and billing details under its own privacy policy and shares with us what we need to provide your license and support: your name, email address, country and what you bought.

The WinNest app

WinNest sends no telemetry or usage data, and your virtual machines stay on your PC. It connects to the internet only to:

  • download the operating systems you choose from their official servers, and the VirtIO drivers for Windows guests from fedorapeople.org;
  • install QEMU with winget, when you ask it to;
  • activate your license and check it about once a day. For that it sends Polar your license key, your computer's name, a one-way hash of its device identifier (so a license can't be copied to another PC) and the WinNest version. Like any server you connect to, Polar also sees your IP address.

AI agents that you connect to WinNest run on your PC and talk to it locally. What an agent does with the screenshots, files and command output it gets from a VM is governed by that agent and its provider.

Support

If you write to us, we use your message and email address only to answer you.

Legal bases and retention

We process data to provide the license and support you asked for (contract) and, for access logs and license checks, in our legitimate interest in keeping the website and the licenses secure. We keep purchase and support data while your license is in use and for as long as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, and for its rectification, erasure, restriction or portability, or object to its processing, by writing to pablohurtadohg@gmail.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).

International transfers

GitHub and Polar may process data outside the European Economic Area, under the safeguards described in their own privacy policies.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too.
